We know it’s been said a million times before, but can we just take a minute to acknowledge how unbelievably gorgeous Halle Berry is? For a reminder, you need only watch this video of her appearance last night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, in which the 46-year-old wears an ultra low-cut Reem Acra LBD that proves almost as riveting to her host as small talk about the Oscars and the James Bond franchise.
In the clip, it’s hard to tell exactly what is keeping the dress up — is it tape? glue? some kind of miracle adhesive? — but upon closer inspection the mini features a subtle sheer panel that supports the plunging V (tricky!). And while they didn’t talk about the dress in question, Leno did bring up another scene-stealing black and silver number: Berry’s Oscars gown.
The actress confesses that she almost didn’t wear the dress, although by the sounds of things it wasn’t quite the dramatic last minute, Hathaway-style switcheroo:
“I had a conversation with Donatella Versace and I told her that I wanted to go to the Oscars as a Bond girl — like, if a Bond girl would go in 2013. So she came up with what her idea of it was, but you know she’s out of the country. So she put it in a suitcase and shipped it here and I got it a day before the Oscars…So the day before, I had some other dress I was going to wear, which was beautiful, but I pulled this out and it was like pssheww! It fit perfectly and I just thought ‘Wow.’”
